About Us

PATTi’S QUiLTiNG & FABRiCS is located on Route 9 in Glens Falls, NY - Hometown USA - which is half way between Saratoga Springs and Lake George. We are a couple hours drive from Canada, maybe an hour from Vermont, and just on the southern tip of the Adirondacks. I have been in business for more than six years, starting from my home as a professional long-arm quilting service and over the course of four years running out of space and opening the shop. We are in our fourth year at our present location, and since we have just purchased the building, plan on staying a very long time.

We are a full service Quilt Shop as well as a Professional Long-arm Quilting Service. I have been a quilter for more than a decade and a long-arm professional for seven of those years. We do only pantographs or edge-to-edge quilting, some free hand stipple/meander on small wall hangings and table runners but that is the extent of our (and I use this phrase freely) custom quilting.

We provide friendly service and enjoy helping all our friends find the perfect fabric, book, pattern, notion or put together that perfect project, we especially enjoy helping the beginner quilter get started. We provide basic quilting classes as well as many sewing sessions. Our classes are geared to teaching quilting basics and most are priced at $5 and $10.

My staff includes four great women with more years of quilting experience than any of them might care to admit. There is Jean our full-time professional long-arm quilter with more than four years of long-arm quilting experience, Dianne who does most of our shop samples and loves to cut out our kits, Pat is our teacher and a retired quilt shop owner, Karen is our newest staff member and professional long-arm trainee and Patti (me) who gets to think she owns the place.

We love Thimbleberries Fabrics and carry almost every line she has. We are a Thimbleberries Quilt Club Shop and also do our Thangles Buck-a-Block as a Thimbleberries Scrappy. Other fabric lines include Holly Taylor by Moda Fabrics, she is another personal favorite, as well as Sandy Grevais, Kathy Schmitz, Fig Tree Quilts and any other Moda line that might catch my fancy. We have Windham, Anna Griffin, Benartex, Andover Fabrics, Red Rooster, Maywood Studios and more. The best way to describe my shop is you never know what I might have because if I see something I like, I usually buy it.

Our shop has a North Country feel, we LOVE Adirondack Prints and carry approx. 1000 bolts of fabric. We have the largest selection of 108" wide backing fabrics in the area. These lines include Benartex, Moda, Batiks and Preprinted Muslin that you quilt by following the preprinted pattern and the designs disappear when washed. We now have more than fifty backings to choose from and the selection changes regularly.

We have samples of our kits everywhere and we have a lot of kits. Any kit can be used in any class, at PATTi’S QUiLTiNG & FABRiCS you choose your class project. If you cannot find a prepackaged kit you like or would like to do up your own kit, we are happy to help.
